Hello!
I am the managet of Gangneung Tours~!
Today, I explain about Gangneung Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival!

Picture
The annual Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival in Gangneung was held from April 2 to 7 in 2019.
The cherry blossom festival has been established as the representative festival of Gangneung,
and many domestic and foreign tourists visited the festival.

You can see the beautiful cherry blossoms surrounding Gyeongpo Lake, Gyeongpodae Pavilion
(Tangible Cultural Property No.6 of Gangwon Province).

You can enjoy the festival not only during the day but also in the evening.
When the sun goes down, the lights make the cherry blossoms look better.
That’s why there were so many visitors visiting the festival in the evening.
Taking pictures with the beautiful cherry blossoms in a dark evening and enjoying the fresh air
with the cool breeze is another advantage of the festival!
Various cultural and artistic events, such as photo zones, experience activities and exhibitions,
were held from the three-kilometer point of the Gyeongpodae entrance.
So I will tell you about the cultural and artistic event!
First of all, there were various photo zones where visitors could enjoy the festival while taking pictures.
There was Giant Snowball Photo Zone where visitors could take pictures.
They could take part in the gift event by posting good pictures on their social media services.
Winners of the event received prizes.

This is Korea’s 1900s dressing experience zone.
Various clothes that give you a feeling of Korea’s 1900s have been prepared.
Let’s take a look at the visitors enjoying the experience!
It is so beautiful because the clothes and the background go well together!
The clothes matched well with prepared photo zones and Gyeongpodae Pavilion, so the visitors were very happy.

This is the venue for the event called Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Mailbox.
Many visitors participated in the event.
If you write a letter and put it in the mailbox, it will be shipped in March 2020.

It will be a different experience for those who participated in the event to receive the letter in March 2020.
It would be great if visitors could participate in the event!
<Korean Traditional Games Experience Event Free>
This is a place where visitors can experience traditional Korean games.
A cute little kid is playing Tuho, a game where people throw sticks into a canister.
I think that the cherry blossom festival will be a good memory for children.
There are other games.

Various Korean traditional games were prepared, which foreigners and young people in Korea don’t know well.
Playing with your family or friends is the best way to make memories!
Booths run by youth clubs were also prepared.
Visitors could make their own key chains and pouches.
The youth have prepared various events such as face painting, flower tattoo, and paper cherry blossoms-making.
You can’t forget about coffee when it comes to Gangneung.
Visitors can buy Gangneung coffee bread as well as see that baristas make their own hand drip coffee.
It is also good for you to enjoy time to relax while drinking coffee.
The Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Free Market was held from April 6 to 7.
Small business owners and Gangneung citizens prepared it a lot.
Visitors could enjoy buying various products.

Visit the Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival with so many experiences and events to play with family and friends.
