Aranaby is the zip-line in Ganuneung.
‘Ara’ is the old Korean word which means ‘sea’, and ‘naby’ means ‘butterfly’.
It is said ‘aranaby’ means ‘to fly like a butterfly over the sea’.
There are two reasons why Aranaby is special.
One is it runs over the sea, which doesn’t only make you feel thrilled, also feel cool with the sea breeze, and also feel more relieved and safer than running over land.
The other is it is a round trip.
First it starts at Anmok Beach to Namhangjin Beach,
and goes back to the start point, Anmok Beach right away.
You can choose the course vice versa(Namhangjin Beach - Anmok Beach – Namhangjin Beach).
Very easy and convenient back to your party.
We used a taxi from Gangneung Station to Anmok Beach to get Aranaby.
The fare was 6,000 won.
Before leaving, we admired the clear ocean view at the start point for a second.
Although, we were nervous a little at the top of the five-storied structure, the view was so great.
The round-trip distance is about 600 m.
As for little kids, a parent and a kid can ride together.
An adult couple also can ride together, if the total weight is under 130 kg.
