Gangneung Daedohobu government office
opening the door, the time of the past comes to us.
The Gangneung Daedohobu government office designated as Historic Site No. 388, has a high antiquated status among modern buildings in Gangneung downtown. During the Japanese colonial era in 1927, it was forced to be removed from the Gangneung to build Gangneung public school but it was now restored since 2000.
During the process, the name of it changed as 'Gangneung Daedohobu government office'. If the former name is emphasizing only the function of the place the guest stayed, the new name has a meaning of a role that it points out the historical fact. This restoring work seems like a meaningful accomplishment to search the roots of Gangneung.
