The beautiful scenery awakens everywhere you walk
Sogeumgang, located in the Odaesan National Park, is a beautiful scenic spot with the meaning of 'Small Mt.Geumgang'.
Originally, it was called "Mt. Cheonghak" because its shape was like a crane spreading wings. It was said that Lee Yulgok, a scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, visited this place, and named it“Small Mt. Geumgang”, admiring the view like that of Mt. Geumgang.
If you want to see the true value of the Sogeumgang that was designated as Scenic Spot No. 1 in the 1970s, we recommend the mountain trail starting from Mureung, which is the beginning of the Sogeumgang, to the top of Noinbong peak. Except for the last section that climbs to the top, the mountain trail is gradual, so you can enjoy hiking without much effort.
It is full of beautiful landscapes and mysterious legends all over the place, including Sipjaso, Yeonhwadam, Sikdangam, Guryong falls and Manmulsang. There is a story that the prince Maeui, the last prince of Silla ate with his military on the spacious Sikdangam during the Goryeo Dynasty. There is a legend that nine dragons lived in Guryong falls where nine waterfalls flow.
In Manmulsang there are various cliffs including Geoinsang, Gwimyeonam and Chotdaeseok and it stimulates the imagination of the viewers. It seems that no scenery of Sogeumgang is just normal.
